Many moons ago, a beautiful soul named Lisa Joyce spearheaded a heartfelt and inspiring anthology of writing with the title "Being Here". "Being Here" is a collection of writings of the patients, families, and staff of the IWK-Grace Health Care Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Unfortunately, Lisa died after the publication of what would become the first edition of "Being Here". The publication itself inspired subsequent follow up versions live on in the hearts and minds of all touched by this effort. I first met Lisa when I worked as a staff member with the Child Life Department of the IWK-Grace Health Centre. I have never forgotten her love and determination and it is because of that flame of hopefulness that I now do my part to help continue the light of what she started with this evolving collaborative blog entitled "Still Being Here Being". Thank-you Lisa, you may not still be here being, at least not in the traditional way...
